Dulce de Leche Kakigori is a fragrance that captures the contrast between sweet and fresh. Perfumer Meabh McCurtin combines the creamy warmth of dulce de leche with the light, almost sparkling freshness of kakigori – the Japanese shaved ice that melts on the tongue.

Soft caramel notes meet powdery flowers and a delicate, cool freshness. The result is a composition that feels warm and enveloping, while remaining light and airy.

Combined with White Crush, Dulce de Leche gains extra depth, with a velvety creaminess and accents of almost edible flowers.

Meabh McCurtin

Meabh McCurtin werd geboren en groeide op in Ierland. Ze studeerde biochemie aan de National University of Ireland in Galway en verhuisde na haar afstuderen naar de École normale supérieure in Lyon. Haar passie voor parfumerie bracht haar vervolgens naar Genève, Amsterdam, Parijs en uiteindelijk New York.

Meabh werd begeleid door de Franse meesterparfumeur Dominique Ropion bij IFF. Ze werkte samen met kunstenaars om het parfum Eau d’Amsterdam te creëren, gebaseerd op een unieke headspace-analyse van iepenbladeren en -takken. Met het Ierse bedrijf Cloon Keen heeft ze verschillende geuren ontwikkeld, waaronder Róisín Dubh, dat in 2019 de Best New Independent Fragrance-award van de Fragrance Foundation won. Momenteel werkt ze bij IFF.

Usage advice

Apply Obvious Dulce de Leche to pulse points. For example, the insides of your elbows and the backs of your knees, or your wrists and neck. Spray this bottle once or twice in the air and walk through the resulting 'perfume cloud' to perfume your hair. Hair is a good carrier for perfume, it holds the fragrance very well. Feel free to reapply this perfume throughout the day, depending on your mood.
