Remove any old nail polish and thoroughly clean your nails with nail polish remover. Nail polish adheres better to a grease-free nail. File your nails into the desired shape. Push back your cuticles with a cuticle pusher. Polish your nails with a buffing file to smooth out any imperfections. Nail polish will look much more even and beautiful on a smooth nail. Now clean your nails one more time with nail polish remover. First, apply a base coat/ridge filler, which evens out the nails. Base coat protects the nails from discoloration. Let this base coat dry for approximately 5 minutes. After you have chosen a colored nail polish, roll the bottle between your hands so that the pigments in the nail polish are well distributed throughout the polish. Then apply a layer of nail polish and let this layer dry for 5 minutes as well. After that, it's time for a second coat; let this dry for 10 minutes. Now it's time for a (quick-drying) topcoat; let this also dry for 5 minutes.
