Perfume of the Gods
According to ancient Greek mythology, the first fig tree was created when the rebellious Sykeus was transformed into this tree by his mother, Gaia, goddess of the earth, saving him from the wrath of Zeus.
‘Athenean’ is a reinterpretation of ‘Figuier’, one of the earlier perfumes in Heeley's collection. Here, the emphasis is on the fragrant wood of the fig tree. Aquatic green notes are balanced with warm undertones of sandalwood, musk, and amber.
Just like music, which can be measured by the vibration of audible sound waves, a perfume is often measured by its 'sillage', the scent trail that the wearer leaves behind 'en passant'. The greater the sillage, the exquisite a perfume should be. At Athenean this is undeniably the case.
