This authentic Lapsang Souchong from China is smoked over a wood fire according to the purest tradition. This process is rarely performed nowadays.

This Lapsang Chinbara is a black tea with a soft, smoky note. The tea leaves are slowly dried over a wood fire, giving the tea its warm, woody character.

When brewed, it produces a clear amber-colored infusion. The taste is round and smoky, without sharpness or bitterness. A tea for moments when you want to slow down and focus solely on your cup.

Every Mariage Frères tea is carefully analysed and inspected to comply with European Regulation (EC) No. 848/2018. The 'Jardin Premier' label is only awarded to teas that meet the strict European Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 due to their exceptional purity.

Usage advice

Place one cotton muslin teabag in a teacup or teapot. Carefully pour 200ml of 95°C water over the bag. The flavours of the tea will be even better when using softened or mineral water. Allow the tea leaves to steep for 5 minutes. This ensures optimal extraction of flavour and aromas. Remove the teabag from the cup or pot and enjoy your perfectly brewed Mariage Freres Breakfast Earl Grey.
