El hermoso tono rojo vibrante y profundo se extrae de las raíces de Rubia tinctorum, Madder. Esta antigua planta de la región de Charente-Maritime, en el oeste de Francia, se ha utilizado desde la antigüedad como tinte muy apreciado para vestidos, tapices y tapices franceses. Además de sus propiedades colorantes duraderas, el pigmento es rico en ingredientes activos conocidos por sus poderosas propiedades biológicas.
