This nude lipstick from Le Rouge Français is the embodiment of a magical sunrise over ancient Nubia. The yellow-brown ocher tones of the ancient limestone temples are set on fire by the heat of the sun. The glowing reddish notes of cinnamon and nutmeg add emphasis.
The typical shade comes from the plant Kite - Reseda luteola - a typical Mediterranean plant. It was used by medieval dyers, who knew it by its Italian name Arzica. From the 1st to the 10th century CE, from Egypt to Palestine, it was the main source of yellow-orange dye for silk and for wool for large floral-print kilim carpets from eastern Anatolia. This pigment is known for its incredible biological properties.
